What is Reframing?

The short answer is:

Reframing is the way Antonio likes to work. It is also, an innovative therapeutic bodywork approach that integrates awareness through posture (static and dynamic), breathing, fluid movement, and intention. Manual therapy further facilitates the embodiment of these principles.

A longer description is:

Drawing on 35 years of experience in Qigong, Tai Chi, Neigong, yoga, martial arts, and a range of bodywork therapies, Antonio, informed by extensive practice, self-reflection, and collaborative problem-solving with clients, is actively developing Reframing, a unique therapeutic approach. This method offers a powerful alternative to traditional systems.

Reframing is an integrated methodology, which combines conscious movements, postural work, manual therapy, breathwork, and mindfulness. It actively engages clients in the learning of alternative movement patterns, providing them with new options and tools to improve posture, well-being, and support injury prevention and recovery.

Why choose reframing as a name?

The name "Reframing" embodies the power of perspective. By reframing our approach, we can transform any experience into an opportunity for learning and positive change.

How does it works?

Reframing integrates several components into a cohesive therapeutic framework. It's crucial to understand that Reframing is synergistic and the distinctions between its parts are primarily for intellectual and educational purposes. In practice, all components work simultaneously. It is built upon evolving principles applied in practice. It focuses on embodying, developing, and reinforcing efficient alternative patterns to unlock and manifest our innate potential.

Reframing's Core Pillars:

·         Physical Work: A diverse range of body movements designed to cultivate alignment, relaxation, soft strength, flexibility, mobility, and fluidity.

·         Breathwork: Focused breathing exercises to enhance vitality, calm the nervous system, and awaken, control, and integrate various regions of the body.

·         Mental Focus: Cultivating mindful attention and harnessing the power of intention.

·         Integration: Unifying these elements to reveal a continuously evolving and enriching understanding of oneself.

Reframing Methodology:

Reframing aims to plant “seeds of awareness” within the practitioner, which are then nurtured through self-practice, leading to a wider range of personal possibilities.

  • We typically practice Reframing in private sessions at our studio, Body in Harmony, with individuals or pairs.

  • Emphasis is placed on embodied learning. All components are rooted in scientific principles, and a clear explanations for each concept is provided.

  • The practice includes both solo and partner exercises to accelerate learning and facilitate feedback.

  • Occasionally, manual therapy may be offered to reinforce and assist progress.
